We came across a large troop of baboons in Tarangire – it must have been between 50 – 100 animals. The video below will give you a sense of the troop size. There were lots of babies hitching rides with adults.

If you have not been watching, there is a great show on Discovery (American TV networks) called Serengeti, that has excellent cinematography and dramatizes the lives of various animals including the social dynamics of a baboon troop.
